Every two seconds, someone needs blood. According to the American Red Cross, more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. One pint of blood can save up to three lives.
All blood types are needed; the most commonly requested by hospital s is Type O. Blood products are being distributed to area hospitals almost as quickly as donations are coming in. As summer starts, all eligible blood donors are encouraged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives.
In response to this constant need, Good Samaritan Regional Health Center typically hosts a community blood drive every other month. Their next drive is August 22nd, details are below:
