At St. Mary's Good Samaritan, we recognize the importance of visits from family and friends as an important part of the healing process. We welcome visitors during the appropriate hours. Please note that certain departments within our hospitals may have more specific visiting policies due to the uniqueness of the services provided in that area. If you are uncertain of the policies, or have any questions, feel free to ask a member of our staff.
Hospital Wide Visiting Hours:
Mt. Vernon Campus -- 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Centralia Campus -- 11:00 am - 8:30 pm
Visitors in the Intensive Care Unit
We limit visitors in our Intensive Care Unit to two per patient at any given time. At times, our nurses may differ from this policy. Please know that our nurses make these decisions with the patients' best intererest in mind. To avoid the risk of infection, children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the Intensive Care Unit.
Visitors in the Maternity Unit
During labor, we request that visitation is limited. The coach and an alternate coach are welcome to stay in the room during labor. After the delivery, it is our policy to allow siblings and grandparents in the room while the baby is present. All visitors should thoroughly wash their hands before holding the newborn.
Phone Calls
You may call a patient in the hospital from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm (in Mt. Vernon) or 10:00 pm (in Centralia). These guidelines are in place to help ensure that all of our patients have a restful night of sleep.
If you would like to phone a patient room, you may call the main line of either hospital and press "0" for the Operator. The Operator will be happy to connect you to the room and provide you with the the direct line for future reference.
