St. Mary's Good Samaritan is proud to be a host for the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program. This program is a partnership between the American Cancer Society, the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CTFA) and the National Cosmetology Association.
During the workshop, volunteer beauty professionals help female cancer patients learn practical, hands-on beauty techniques to help restore appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The program focuses on makeup techniques, skin care, nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each woman who attends receives a free kit of cosmetics for use during and after the workshop.
